Trust & Safety Center
Teen Recruit is built around safer local work, privacy, and parent-managed teen business profiles.
This page explains the safety systems behind the site: what work is blocked, how reports are handled, what stays private, how parent-managed setup works, and how moderation reviews accounts and listings.
Blocked categories
Teen Recruit blocks work that is too risky for minors, including roofs, ladders, gutter cleaning, driving, heavy moving, hazardous materials, dangerous equipment, adult-only services, and work that appears to break youth labor rules.
Reporting
Users can report unsafe requests, harassment, fake activity, privacy issues, suspicious listings, and parent-managed setup concerns. Reports go to the admin queue for review, notes, priority, and resolution.
Privacy
Teen profiles should show only a general service area. Exact customer addresses belong only inside private requests and only when needed for a specific hire or rental.
How moderation works
1Screen the exact request
Service requests check the teen's age and work state together with the exact task, equipment, date, hours, school schedule, and permit information.
2Review sensitive content
Portfolio items can be approved, rejected, or sent back for changes when they include private addresses, faces, school details, license plates, or unclear claims.
3Escalate serious issues
Admins can prioritize reports, add internal notes, suspend accounts, handle parent removal requests, and keep an audit trail of moderation decisions.
What Teen Recruit verifies
Teen Recruit can verify control of an account email, record that an adult created and manages a teen business account, screen submitted service details against platform rules, and tie a verified review to a completed Teen Recruit request.
A verified review means the review came from an eligible completed request. It is not a background check or an endorsement of the business.
What Teen Recruit does not verify
Teen Recruit does not routinely run background checks, inspect homes or rental items, or independently confirm identity documents, licenses, insurance, certifications, tools, experience, or every claim in a listing.
Customers and account owners should ask questions, review the request together, and stop before meeting or hiring if something does not feel right.
Service eligibility screening
Teen Recruit compares the supplied request facts with its federal baseline and encoded state rules. A request can pass, pass with conditions, pause for administrator review, or be blocked.
Known hazardous work is blocked. Missing equipment, unclear tasks, possible permit requirements, and state-specific exceptions are not silently treated as allowed.
What the result means
A screening result is a safety and compliance aid, not legal advice or a guarantee that work is lawful. State and local rules, school requirements, licenses, and the legal classification of the work may be more protective.
Customers and account owners must provide accurate facts and stop if the real work differs from the approved request.
Parent-managed setup
Teen business profiles are designed to be owned by a parent or guardian account before the profile is treated as ready. Account records can include parent contact, timestamps, safety confirmations, and moderation history.
Parents can request profile removal from account settings or by contacting support. Removal requests should hide or lock the teen profile while admins review the request.
Portfolio rules
Teens should only post work they did. Portfolio entries should not show private addresses, customer names, school names, license plates, faces without permission, or anything that makes a home or person easy to identify.
Admins may reject portfolio items or mark them as needing changes before they are used as proof of work.
Verified review integrity
Reviews unlock only after a customer confirms a Teen Recruit request was completed, and one review is allowed per transaction. Every published verified rating has equal weight. Disputed, hidden, and removed reviews are excluded from the displayed average while unpublished.
Businesses can respond publicly and dispute inaccurate or policy-breaking reviews. Positive and negative feedback follows the same moderation standard.
Incidents and evidence
Customers and business owners can report cancellations, no-shows, harassment, safety incidents, payment concerns, or review accuracy problems from the request history. Relevant evidence may be uploaded to private storage and is limited to case participants and authorized moderators.
Do not upload unrelated private information, sexual content, government IDs, medical records, or anything obtained unlawfully.
If someone is in immediate danger, call 911 or local emergency services. Suspected child sexual exploitation should also be reported to the NCMEC CyberTipline.
Money and scam safety
Teen Recruit does not currently process customer-to-business payments for jobs or rentals. Keep the agreed price, scope, deposit, and cancellation terms in the request or message thread before money changes hands.
Never share a password or sign-in code, pay to unlock a job, accept an overpayment and send part back, or pay with gift cards, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency at someone's direction. Stop and report pressure or suspicious payment instructions.
Rental item safety
Before listing or handing off an item, check its make and model for recalls, inspect its condition, disclose missing parts or damage, and include any instructions or protective equipment needed for normal use.
Do not list or hand off a recalled, damaged, age-restricted, or prohibited item. Search current notices at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall database.
Customer responsibilities
Customers should describe the work clearly, keep messages respectful, avoid unsafe tools or conditions, share addresses only when needed, and never ask teens to hide a job from a parent or move into unsafe private channels.
Teen responsibilities
Teens should work through the parent-managed account before meeting customers, traveling to a job, accepting private-home work, changing locations, using tools, or taking work outside their training and comfort level.
